How to Lose Weight in Your Sleep
People are always mystified when you tell them they can lose weight in their sleep naturally, without taking any diet pills or potions and without having to resort to dangerous surgery. So how exactly does that work? Well, here we’ll take a look at what it means to actually achieve weight loss in your sleep and what you need to do in order to make it happen.

First of all, sleep itself is a part of every person’s day that is as necessary to the health of the body and mind as is exercise and good diet. This is the time of the day when you body goes into repair and rejuvenation mode, fixing any damaged muscles, ligaments tissues and cells while it is not being constantly interrupted by your waking actions. Its also the time your mind settles down and switches into unconscious mode so that it can do all the things it can’t do while you are awake, conscious and constantly thinking of things.

So you can see that sleep itself is a highly important part of your day and if you deprive yourself of sleep, you will become less alert and active during the day because of it. If you persistently go without the full quote of around eight hours sleep every night, you will, over time do your body more harm than good. It will also impact your mental functions which can have a profound effect on your overall health.
This is where we get to the part where you can learn how to make full use of your sleep time as part of your weight loss process. It goes without saying that sleeping alone will not help you lose weight, although it will help you to maintain your body’s health better than if you deprived yourself of sleep. You need to give your body something to work with while you are awake and that comes in the form of exercise and good diet. These are the two main ingredients in any weight loss plan, so if you intend to lose weight, you need to be looking at improving your diet and getting more exercise.
The way this works is by a combination of digesting a calorie controlled, nutritious diet with the exercise that you do during your waking hours. The processes that are started while you are awake include better digestion of the food and better use being made from the nutrients to fuel your muscles while you exercise. This increases your metabolic rate, or the rate at which you process the food you eat. The faster this goes, the faster you burn off the calories you consumed, which leads to weight loss.
The beauty of all this is that the process is carried on when you sleep. So while the body is busy repairing any damaged muscles, tissues and fibres that occurred while you were awake and exercising, it is continuing to burn calories while it implements those repairs. So burning calories means you continue to lose weight while you sleep. Now isn’t that just the best thing ever?
